Recently The Southeastern Business Research Center completed a study for the Tangipahoa Parish Government on “An Analysis of Tangipahoa Parish Movers and Home Buyers:
from 1/1/2020—3/18/2022″
I find it very interesting that nearly 50% of the new buyers were already living in Tangipahoa Parish and moved from within the Parish.
“When analyzed by the previous residence, 47.0 percent of movers were found to have moved from another address within Tangipahoa Parish, 29.7 percent from other parishes within Louisiana, and 23.4 percent from other states (or overseas armed forces installations).
St. Tammany Parish was the previous home of the highest percentage of movers from the rest of Louisiana (25.6 percent), followed by Jefferson Parish (17.2 percent) and Livingston Parish (15.1 percent).”
People from all over the USA have moved to Tangipahoa Parish
The largest number of people moved from neighboring parishes.
So as we continue to see new homes built know that many of these new owners are Tangipahoa Parish Residents becoming first-time homebuyers or maybe upsizing or downsizing. The thing that stands out to me is that many are choosing to stay in Tangipahoa Parish and that signals to me that we are bringing attracting good jobs, opportunities, and quality of life items that are making Tangipahoa Parish “Home” for the next generation.
